Ready for Spring!

I wanted to wear a skirt today so badly for some reason, but it's just too damn cold. I am now actively working on THREE big knitting projects at once. THREE!!! The baby blanket (easy easy easy), the xmas sweater (at an easy point right now), and the twinkle sweater (easy, but takes more attention)... LL

Does anyone care?

I know a handful of people read this thing, but if you read my blog, could you make a comment to let me know? or send me an email to tell me how thoroughly entertaining and exciting my life is, and how jealous you are? I just want to know who is reading... LL

Life is funny, huh?

Nice and relaxed weekend

I realized this past weekend was my first actually at home in about a month!! So I laid around and relaxed for most of it. I caught up on some tivo, and netflix. I knit a lot. Saturday, Allison came over a for a small knitting lesson she didn't need. And yesterday, I ran some craft errands, and then had El Rodeo with Mark, Beth and Isabel. I feel refreshed. I'm looking forward to a similar weekend this week, since my trip to charlotte is cancelled. I do need to do laundry, though. Maybe I will actually venture into my apt complex's laundry room! Gotta go find quarters. I am now on square 3 of 16 for Charlie's blanket, and I have almost the whole back done on my xmas sweater! I am anxious to cast on the sweater I posted below, but I have to get needles first. Yes, there are actually needles I don't own. Size 35 circulars. Last time I needed some, I borrowed from Marri. I also took pics of all my projects, even those in progress and hibernating. They are all updated o

Argh. There's tooooo much to knit in this world.

I got a whole bag of good yarn really cheap when I was in California for this. Mine will be greyish, from Rowan Big Wool Fusion. But in the meantime I'm working on a baby blanket and my xmas sweater. Not enough time!!! LL

Ho hum

Today, I headed up a fundraising lunch with my dept for Relay for Life. I am the company point person for it this year. We raised over $700, which the company will match!! Go me! My mac n cheese went fast. The weekend in DC was good with Justin. I also saw Jessica, which was awesome. We didn't do anything too exciting, which was just fine with me. Next time, we'll go to the spy museum though... The way home from DC was a nightmare. It was soooo windy. Like 50-60 mph gusts. My little car was getting blown all over. I made it no problem in good time to about a half hr from Durham, when traffic stopped. For 2 HRS!!! Apparently there had been brush fires so part of 85 was closed. I sat in my car and knit. And I had to pee so bad. Once through it, went to Pizza Hut and ate dinner to get out of my car for a while. So I didn't get home until about 9:30!!! Argh. So much for a restful end to the weekend. Last night I had to make tons of mac n cheese, so I am looking forward to a mi

Off to DC!

I'm leaving soon to go meet Justin in Alexandria for the weekend. Yay! LL

Bird of Paradise

I forgot to tell you about sunday. First, I actually went to church. My favorite rector ever from high school was at church. He lives in Richmond now. I hadn't seen him in almost a decade. It was so good to see him. I love him so much! I actually spoke to him some a few years ago when going thru the Albie saga. Then, me and Mom met Angela and Whitney at the Original Pancake house. We went there last week too! It's soooo good. Any kind of pancake, waffle, french toast, and crepe you could want. They also have this crazy dish called the Bird of Paradise. It's their chicken salad in a pineapple "bowl" and they use a banana for a head. Whitney ordered one. It was amazing. Whitney named it Esmerelda.

Ah, a Spring teaser!
