Life was forever changed in 2015!

2015 changed my life in many ways. It started good as N2 had our January conference at Disney's Coronado Springs, so Mary Powell went with us to play at Disney!

Things took a turn in February when my cousin Paul passed away. We drove down to Georgia in a snow/ice storm for the funeral, but made it. It was good to see family, but not under those circumstances. We will always miss him.

Jim's good friend, Nelson, moved from DC to California in March, so we went up to DC for his going away party.

In April, what was supposed to be a big group knitting cruise, turned into a group cruise of our friends! It started with a couple of days at Disney, with me, Julie, and Jim. Dana, Dennis, Travis, Mary, and James joined us on the cruise. It was a four night cruise from Tampa to Cozumel on Royal Caribbeans Brilliance of the Seas.





Later in April, I traveled to Salt Lake City for another N2 conference, where we stayed at the 5 star amazing Grand America hotel. It was the perfect time of year to see it. Didn't get to see anything outside of the hotel area but it is definitely a place I'd like to go again.



May was when our lives would forever be changed! After only ONE try, we got pregnant! I "announced" it to Jim's family by crocheting a pair of booties. I went to the beach with my Lunachick group of girlfriends, and made them all take pregnancy tests to make sure mine was real. With 4 negatives and a positive, I knew it was true! More to come on our new addition... Spoiler alert: it's a girl!

BEWARE the IDES of MARCH

Today's History Lesson: The ides of March is one day that continues to appeal, marked because that was the date that Julius Caesar was assassinated in the senate, in 44BC. Its modern-day memory is thanks, like so many things, to Shakespeare's way with words. In act one, scene two of Julius Caesar, Caesar asks a soothsayer what the future holds. Caesar: Who is it in the press that calls on me? I hear a tongue, shriller than all the music Cry "Caesar!" Speak. Caesar is turn'd to hear. Soothsayer: Beware the ides of March. I've decided to educate you guys a little bit more instead of just filling you in on what i eat, etc. Maybe I'm inspired my my new magazine subscription to Mental Floss... hmmm. we'll see how long it lasts. Halfway thru first week already...

but it seems like i've been here forever! I fit in great. My boss is so nice, buti'm sad she will be on leave for all of July. I went to my first knitting group last night. It was the first meeting of a group in Cary/Apex. Everyone was so nice. There were about 20 of us. I assume as time goes on, the numbers will trickle down, but who knows. We were brimming with ideas of things to do, like going to a fiber fest in Asheville in October. I'm such a kntting nerd. And proud of it! Sat night I may go to the outdoor movie and concert at the NC Museum of Art. Dave may go with me. I think I'm on the guest list. That's what Dave Hartman, the drummer said. The band playing is Southern Culture on the Skids (jealous Marri?), and the movie is Talledega Nights. Hope it's a nice night. Mark and Beth are going to New Orleans to see the Police. Jealous am I! I hope to go in November in Atlanta, but we'll see if it sells out before I can afford it. LL
