Another New Year's Eve has come, and yet again I sit here alone. This is worse than being alone on Valentine's Day. WHATEVER! In other news, I am excited about starting at Adam & Eve on Weds. It should be a much better environment and interesting work than Duke. And still not that bad of a commute. And I can wear jeans. And not get in til 9. Yay. I have been buying lots of cheap after-xmas holiday decs. So my apt will be even cheesier next year!! But I got so many ornaments, I will need a "real" substantially sized tree. It would look good in my sunroom though. I am suddenly working on sooooo many knitting projects. I was working on Colin's sweater and was almost finished until I realized the pattern was wonky and had to rip out a few inches. So I got frustrated and put it down for now. Then I started a pair of socks. Then I realized that I better get going on a scarf for Justin's bday. And me and Beth are gonna make crocheted pins for Katie's shower.

Still negotiating details, BUT I got the job I wanted at Adam & Eve. I will be a PR asst starting Jan 2nd! Yay! I guess I'm just a porn girl. And now I can enjoy the holidays. I am having major sinus issues, and am on a whole cocktail of drugs and treatments. Joy. LL

Had a good time in Orlando, but now back to reality. Gotta find a job!!!

So, I got fired friday. Me! I got fired! I can't believe it actually. I don't get fired. I'm a good worker and a good coworker. But supposedly there had been "complaints" about me being "unpersonable". whatever. I do not know what they are talking about. And I'm not just saying that. I smiled at every person who walked in the door!!!!! I registered with unemployment today, and called temp agencies, and am trying to set up something with Adam & Eve cause they actually have a couple of openings. And a couple of people have forwarded me listings too... but I doubt I'll start anything before the holidays, especially since I'm going to Florida next week. I plan to go and have fun and forget life for a week! LL

The AVN nominations were announced this week so I'll have a lot of porn to watch before the voting deadline on the 17th! It sucks I'll be away the whole week before in Orlando, so that means a lot of porn for me in the next couple of weeks. I have screeners on the way, my 58 pg list of nominees in hand and fresh eyes! Check back with me in 2 weeks. I guess no Guitar Hero or Netflix for me for a while. LL

It was nice and relaxing for the most part. Mom and Meemaw were here thurs and friday nights. I have gotten Mom addicted to Guitar Hero! So much so, that she insisted on buying me another guitar (wireless too!) so we could both play. They were on sale at Target friday. It's nice to be able to sit back in my bed and play wirelessly. Now Mom needs to come visit more often so she can continue her tour! I think I have allergies for the first time. My throat feels awful still. I finished one of my "closet" knitting projects. All it needed was the ends tucked in. But there were forty of them. It's a cotton tank top and it's huge. I may try to shrink it but I don't know who I'll give it to... maybe Leigh... she's pregnant again!! I hope it's a girl. Colin turned 6 months yesterday. LL

I have to work friday. Poo. But Mom and I think Meewmaw are coming until Saturday. I don't know what me and mom are doing for a thanksgiving meal though... LL

First of all, I am still getting over my illness... but mostly better. Second of all, I got a NEW CAR!!! I got a 2008 Yaris (copied Marri!). I love it... though it's a stick which I am getting used to again.I will post pics soon. Last night, Mark took me to a Tarheels game at the Dean Dome. It was my first since 1999! It was against Iona, so we won of course... it was fun!! I hope I get to go to more. We're having a pot luck lunch today at work, so I made my usual Mac N Cheese. It smelled so good last night, it was so hard not to eat some. LL

This morning I woke up with a horrible sore throat and headache. And I'm going to CLT this weekend. Great. LL

So now I have 4 months of my normal routine. Then, in March, I'll go back for tests again and start the exercise. My thanksgiving plans got cancelled. I feel bad I can't go to Ginny's wedding or Xanadu, but I can't afford it anyway. I just hope I can sell my show tix. Mom's gonna come for the weekend instead. I'll probably have already decorated for Xmas cause I'm so excited to... I am planning to pull out all my stuff today. I went to Beth and Mark's for dinner last night. Beth made a yummy soup. Isabel is entering her toddler/cranky stage... Yikes! Wish them luck. LL

SOME people have been bugging me to post pics of my apt... so I'm finally doing it. Here's the Sunroom and Deck.

BUT I was able to wear my new winter hat today. I could have knit it, but I didn't. AND I was able to use my new ice scraper. It's that cold. Tonight and tomorrow's low is supposed to be in the TWENTIES!!! I'll have to start creative layering, since I still don't have a whole lot of winter clothes. The train ride with Mom on saturday was fun. I got a lot of crocheting done. And I bought a new really nice wooden hook in Charlottesville. I wouldn't mind going up there again sometime. It was cute and we didn't have enough time. The time I visited Katie we didn't act touristy or anything. I had my heart stress test on Monday. I made it 10 minutes on the treadmill. Pathetic. But I think my heart is fine. My cholesterol is another story. I got some perfect red, white, and green sparkly xmas yarn on Ebay for my Cheesy Xmas Sweater. It's all planned out now, graphs and all, so now I just have to sit tight til after the holidays to start it. I pretty much hav

I'm driving down to charlotte tonight, and then early early early in the morn, me and Mom are driving to Spencer to take a scenic train ride up to VA and back for the day. I should be able to get some good crochet/knitting time! And the leaves should be pretty. Anyway, have a good weekend!! LL

I finally got this hair dryer thing I've been wanting. It dries and straightens at the same time. It actually was easy and didn't take that long. And even after sleeping on it, it was still flat and straight and shiny! It's a miracle! I never wear my hair down cause it's too full and frizzy. But I did today!! Check out the grey streak!

It was literally freezing this morning. And silly me thought it was too early for that. A) I haven't taken out my gloves and scarves yet. B) I don't have an ice scraper yet. Which was bad cause when I got to my car it was covered with a layer of ice! I had to run it until most of the front windshield was clear, but the rear and sides still weren't, so I had to ride to work with my windows down. It was 35 degrees out!! Winter sucks. LL

I finished my bear for the Children's hospital auction. He is so cute. I want to keep him. We're voting later today on which bear to use as our official entry.

I broke out a real coat! I had a productive weekend. Friday night and Saturday I cleaned my apt and organized more things that needed it. For instance, I set up my fireplace accessories I had bought... Yay!!! Fire! ((when it's on contained, it can be good!) AND I set up Leigh's shelves and brought out my box of "stuff". I have pared down my collected crap over the last few years, but kept a boxfull. And it all fits nicely on the shelves, so my clutter is contained to one space.

Here is the drawing of my vision for the xmas sweater... the actual design will change some, but you get the idea. I am busily designing graphs for the images! The snowflake and santa head are done!

I did a gauge swatch last night so I can properly design my sweater! The acrylic isn't so bad, though it may pill. I am coloring a drawing of my vision. I'll scan and post when I'm done so you can the cheesyness in my brain! LL

my cheesy xmas sweater will be inspired by this kid's sweater. i would knit that but i don't want to put all that work into something the kid will grow out of so quickly!

I had a physical and pap smear today with a new doctor. I really liked her too! I picked well. I was poked and prodded though. I got blood drawn, a tetanus shot, a flu shot, and of course multiple items forced up my underused hooha. Joy. But she did confirm that my leg numbness is probably from weight. so i guess i'll have to deal with it for a few more months, assuming i lose weight. i go for a screening for the exercise study on thursday. I have started designing a wonderful Cheesy Christmas Sweater pattern. I plan to knit a wonderfully gaudy xmas sweater for myself to wear every holiday season. Knowing how I have colorwork in my knitting, I'm sure it will take me years to complete, but maybe I'll surprise myself. And I'm excited to start it, but I can't/won't until after the holidays/xmas gifts are done. But I did buy some wonderfully squeaky cheap acrylic yarn for it. Would I use anything else? I think not. Right now, I'm trying to finish the bear pillow
