MAN! Do I feel old.

I went to the opening day of my new neighborhood Chick Fil A last night. It was crazy busy. And I got a free little stuffed cow! Anyway... my cashier, who was in training and very slow, was this teenager. To me, he looked 17 or 18ish... but then I heard a manager ask him for his birth year. 1992! Oh my god. I remember when I felt old hearing people say they were born in the 80's, but THE 90s? This guy must be 15, maybe barely 16! 1992 was over 15 years ago already? And he was BORN????? Makes 1976 sound ancient.

um, yeah--I am now teaching kids born during my freshman year at UNC. 1994, baby!

Hell yeah I feel that pain! Until recently I would feel old when I would talk about Star Wars and kids would say, "What's Star Wars?" Now the new movies stopped that, thank god.

Back home for a day...

So here I am back in Durham. Ah, my bed. My pets. It's a good thing. But I can't get used to it, because I go to NYC tomorrow. But first in the morn, I have a real interview at Adam & Eve. But I get home, and right after I picked up Elle, my car started overheating. ARGH!!!!! I should have just gotten a new car. And I just went to watch stuff I tivoed this week, and it's all blank! That's happened a couple of times now. It's the cable. I have to restart it. Blah. Beth is gonna take me to my interview tomorrow, and Katie is gonna pick me up and take me to the airport. Life savers! I can't take my car in til Monday I guess. Anyway, I shouldn't go to NY, but I am. I need to get away and not think about my car. LL

Dear Blond Guy, We shared some good times in the 20 words or so that we spoke... but I'm afraid I must end things before they get out of hand.
